Beef Ramen Stir Fry is easy and budget friendly meal! Inspired by the Mongolian Beef recipe, it uses ramen noodles, ground beef, vegetables, and a savory stir fry sauce. It is a simple and fast flavor-packed menu to enjoy with family after busy days.
With a little effort, you can get healthier and tastier noodles. It’s better than take out or instant ramen.
You may prefer stir-fry take out noodles or instant ramen because of the short time to process them. Sometimes, instant noodles may be the main choice when you don’t have enough time to cook.
Different from fresh whole foods, packaged foods such as instant noodles do not have enough antioxidants and phytochemicals that will have an impact on health. Therefore, we are better off consuming instant fried noodles. Mixing your own spices and adding some healthy complementary ingredients is one way to make fried noodles richer in nutrients. You can add protein, fiber, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin B12, calcium, magnesium, or potassium.
In this beef ramen stir fry recipe you can add as much protein as you like to make it healthier. The easiest and most suitable types of animal protein for you to mix with fried noodles are eggs, beef, and chicken. These three ingredients can be a complement to the carbohydrates from the noodles.
You can add pieces of chicken, beef, and eggs in this dish. Protein can help the body regenerate cells and body tissues. In addition, eggs also contain omega 3 and choline which can support growth. Fresh seafood such as shrimp and squid can also be an option. It adds also a delicious savory taste.
You can also mix mustard greens, broccoli, carrots and cabbage which is very tasty as a mixture of fried noodles. All these types of vegetables contain vitamins and minerals as well as fiber that can help smooth digestion.
The Ingredients
Ground Beef – I use ground beef because it is cheap and easy. You can also use ground chicken, thinly sliced steak, seared steak, or cubed chicken breast.
Fresh Ramen Noodles – You can choose whichever kind is your favorite. Here, I use dry ramen to make it still fresh when it’s ready to cook. Or, you can use package ramen without using the seasoning.
Veggies – I add broccoli to this dish. Feel free to mix some veggies that suit this stir fry dish such as bok choy, broccoli, carrots, and others.
Onion and Garlic – chop them finely.
Sauce – Prepare sweet soy sauce or kecap manis, soy sauce, and ketchup to make a savory and tangy sauce.
Seasoning – Here, I use chicken stock powder, white pepper, sea salt. You can adjust to your taste.
Vegetable Oil and Water – For our sauce and later for frying.
Bird’s Eye Chili – These are optional. Add this if you need a kick to the dish
