- 2 cups Granulated sugar: coarsely ground white sugar, widely used as a sweetener
- ½ cup Fructose syrup: widely used as a sweetener
- 1 tsp Sea salt: can be added when cooking or sprinkled on top of the food to be served
- 11 oz Evaporated Milk/ 325 ml: make caramel candy that have a soft texture
- 1 oz Whipped cream/ 25 ml: as a mixture of ingredients to produce a soft texture
- ½ tsp Vanilla extract: one of the additional ingredients to improve the smell
How to Make Chewy Caramel Candy
- Prepare a square baking pan, then line it with parchment paper and grease it with butter.
- After that, in a measuring glass, mix evaporated milk with whipped cream.
- Prepare a medium-sized pan, then cook the sugar and fructose syrup until it turns light brown.
- Pour the milk mixture gradually while stirring constantly, then add unsalted butter, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Stir the mixture constantly, scraping the sides occasionally, until the temperature reaches 238°F (114°C). Check the consistency of the caramel by spooning a little hot caramel sauce into a cup of ice water and forming it into a ball with your fingers. It should feel firm and pliable but still slightly sticky
- Once it’s ready, turn off the heat and pour it into the prepared baking pan lined with parchment paper, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Remove from the refrigerator, then lift the caramel from the pan.
- Last, cut the caramel into small square pieces, then wrap them in small pieces of parchment paper.
