Chocolate peanut martabak is one of the most famous street foods from Indonesia. It’s rich with butter, thick pillowy, decadent, and sweet night snack. This Martabak made with flour, egg, granulated sugar, vanilli, baking powder, salt, and water. For topping I used chocolate sprinkles and crushed toasted peanuts.
Batter for 2 Martabak – 250 g Flour – 1/4 cup Granulated Sugar – 1/2 tsp Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp Salt – 1/2 tsp Vanilla Powder – 1 Egg – 350 ml Water After Resting – 1/2 tsp Baking Soda Topping for 1 Martabak – 2 tbsp Butter – 1 tbsp Granulated Sugar – 1/4 cup Chocolate Sprinkles – 1/4 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk – 1/4 cup Crushed Toasted Peanuts
Batter 1. Mix all the ingredient for the batter until smooth and evenly mix. Set aside and let it rest for 1 hour. 2. After 1 hour, add baking soda. mix until combined
Cooking 1. Preheat non-stick skillet over low heat then pour the batter onto the pan. To make the side part crispy, coat the side of the pan slightly all around using ladle. 2. When bubbles start appear, sprinkle it with granulated sugar evenly. 3. Cover the pan and let the pancake cook until the sides and bottom nice and golden.
Serving 1. Transfer the pancake into a big plate and quickly spread it with butter all over. 2. Top with chocolate sprinkle, crushed toasted peanut and condensed milk. 3. Cut the pancake into half then gently flip half of the pancake over the half. 4. Spread with more butter on top of the pancake and cut into 8 pieces. 5. Serve and enjoy!
