- 5 tbsp Butter: is the basic ingredient for white sauce.

How to Make Macaroni Schotel

Then, melt butter in a medium pan, and saute garlic, onion, corned beef, and smoked beef until fragrant. Set aside.
White sauce: In the same pan, melt butter then add flour, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Cook until the flour changes color. Gradually add milk, parmesan, grated cheese, and mushroom powder. Stir until the sauce thickens. Then, transfer the sauce to a medium bowl.
Assembly: in another medium bowl, mix macaroni, egg, garlic mixture, ½ of the white sauce, and celery leaves until all combined.
After that, transfer it to a casserole then spread it. Add remaining white sauce and grated cheese on top. Bake at 180°C for about 30 minutes.
