Loco moco is a Hawaiian cuisine made with white rice topped with a hamburger patty, sunny side up egg, and brown beef gravy.

This recipe name is sounded like Spanish, and it is. Loco means crazy and moco means snot. However, it is very weird to name a delicious food like that.

During 1949, a teenager in Hawaii requested food that include white rice, hamburger patty and brown gravy to Hawaiian restaurant. After that, the sunny side up egg is added.

The loco is named after his friend who the nickname is crazy, he translated crazy into Spanish. And then, he added moco as it sounds nice and rhymes with the loco.

Anyway, the recipe is actually pretty simple if you have the ingredients around. For making the best loco moco, you definitely have to use beef broth for the brown gravy.

We add heavy cream to the brown gravy. Therefore, we name it creamy. It’s delicious addition. Try it soon!
