Ingredients of Tofu Chicken Meatball
Tofu Chicken Meatball
- Ground Chicken; is the main protein source in the meatballs. It adds flavor and texture to the dish. I choose chicken for a light meaty flavor. You can always use ground beef, and mushrooms as a vegetarian option
- Oyster sauce; adds depth of flavor and richness to the soup
- Sugar; To balance the taste, I think sugar besides making it sweet, also makes it more savory
- Green Onions sliced; for aromatic
- grated garlic; add a strong, aromatic flavor to the meatballs and the soup.
- Sesame oil; to add a nutty and aromatic flavor to the dish.
- Salt and Pepper, Chicken powder, and sugar to balance the flavors and bring out the natural flavors of the ingredients.
- Brown Cooked Tofu; is the main ingredient for making a tofu meatball. Brown cooked tofu has a rough surface compared to regular tofu, and when frying the brown tofu, it won’t be as soft and fragile as the white/ regular tofu. I know this brown tofu might be not popular or you can’t find it easily. For an alternative, you can try with pong tofu, or else try with some wonton wrapper
- Vegetable Oil; you can swap with olive oil, canola oil, coconut oil, or sunflower oil.
Sauce
- For making the sauce, I use seasonings Garlic powder, Oyster sauce, Soy sauce, Sesame oil, Sugar, and A pinch of Salt and pepper
- Add some Green onion for garnish Water as the base of the soup, and also add Cornstarch dissolved in 1 tbsp water it will help as a thickening agent Cornstarch is used as a thickening agent for the soup sauce. When dissolved in water, it creates a slurry that helps to thicken the sauce and give it a smooth consistency. Make sure to add the cornstarch after it dissolved to avoid lumping out
