As a side dish, potatoes and onion rings are some people’s favorites. If you look at the types, french fries have many variants. Because there are many kinds, people usually prefer french fries as a snack or side dish of various foods.
However, French fries are everywhere. You will easily find it in fast food restaurants. Meanwhile, onion rings are only available in a few fast food restaurants that have a sharp taste. For that reason, people are more attracted to onion rings. However, onion rings cost more than french fries.
In terms of nutrition, these two snacks are not low-fat or healthy snacks. I know it. But if you look at the potatoes alone, potatoes do have more potassium than bananas and can provide nearly half of your daily need for vitamin C. These nutrients will remain intact if these snacks are not deep-fried.
In terms of nutrition, onion rings containing onions. Onions are strong alium with vitamins like C and B6 as well as folic acid. They have the potential to contain anti-inflammatory, anticancer and antioxidant properties! In short, the inner onion can negate the negative potential of the outer ring. Just like french fries, nutrition is reduced when it goes through the frying stage.
In terms of deliciousness, I can’t compare it. These snacks have different characteristics and tastes. I choose it at the right time when I want it. You need to remember that these two snacks go through the frying stage so they contain lots of calories.
How to prevent Mozarella Onion Rings from getting soft and still crunchy?
One of the most common problems when making onion rings is the flour that doesn’t stick to the onions. Therefore, you should coat the onions with flour until blended first, then dip them in the flour mixture and then fry in hot oil. Cook until they turn golden, remove and drain.
To fry them, make sure all the onions are covered in oil. This is so that the onion rings are cooked and crispy in all parts. In addition, the oil temperature must also be heat stable. If it’s not hot enough, the onions will become mushy and not at all crunchy.
There is one trick to save oil. You can use a frying pan or small saucepan when frying the onion rings. This will make oil consumption more controlled.
